AkzoNobel's art collection primarily contains work by young, promising artists from a variety of disciplines. Each piece was acquired with an overarching vision in mind: coherence and a relation between contemporaries, among artists' oeuvres and among various themes. The quality of the selected works ensures diversity, which in turn enables them to communicate on different levels.The art collection is displayed in coherent presentations in office buildings, mainly in public areas, so that the relation between the different works is made visible for the viewer.
Among other things, artists' studies in form and material result in new forms of (contemporary) abstraction. The subject of man and his environment is at the center of the corporation and this is also reflected in the figurative paintings, the challenging contemporary photographs and the three-dimensional objects that make up the art collection.
