Collection

In the Albert Heijn head office, a modest gallery of sculptures has been composed, with works by Peer Veneman, David Vandekop, Tom Claassen, Henk Visch, Sjoerd Buisman and Nicolas Dings. Paintings by Peter Otto, J. C. J. Vanderheyden, Rudi van de Wint, Ab van Hanegem, Thomas Ankum and others were acquired. Prints in the collection are by Elizabeth de Vaal, Doris Groeneveld, Jelis van Dolderen, Kees de Goede, Erik Andriesse, Klaas Gubbels, Armando, Charlotte Mutsaers, David Vandekop, Carel Visser and various other artists.

Besides the above-mentioned series of prints, Albert Heijn commissioned other works of art.
Piet Dieleman made a series of blue windows for two floors of the head office. In the atrium of this building hangs Alex Vermeulen’s work ‘We oh why’, composed of three separate objects. The connection between the different parts of the building has been reinforced by two three-dimensional works by Loes van der Horst, entitled 'Convex' and 'Concaaf'. Elisabeth Varga made two portrait plaquettes of Albert Heijn and Gerrit-Jan Heijn.
