AEGON’s ‘core collection’ consists mainly of unique pieces that are placed in public areas, such as hallways, representative conference and reception rooms, and offices belonging to the Board of Directors and the various managements. Work belonging to the core collection is not required to have a particular signature or character. However, in acquiring works of art consideration is given to the company's corporate culture and identity. The slogan "Respect People", introduced by AEGON in 1997, has put the accent on the theme mankind.
The core collection consists of works of high quality, representative of the time-frame in which the art was collected and of such an artistic value that they allow AEGON to position itself, both internally and externally, as an enterprise that wishes to share responsibility for the development of art in our society.
