The collection consists of two parts: historical art and modern art.
The historic part concerns Aon's past: de ship broker business. This part houses old works of art including a number of sea views and old maps. The historical part of the Aon collection also includes old and modern ship models.
Part of the modern art collection comprises works of art, which were bought or received as gifts.
The paintings are done by various artists: Eline de Jonge, Joseph Klibansky, Barbara Wijnveld, Arjan van Arendonk, Kees van Bohemen.
The collection is aimed at motivating and inspiring employees. To enhance this effect, we are working on getting the current modern art collection organised. In the process Aon is focusing on Dutch artists and/or artists working in the Netherlands.
The current Aon Nederland art collection is the result of several takeovers and mergers of insurance brokers in the 20th and 21st centuries. These organisations brought their own collections in.
